Fifty-Two on Friday (week 44) | Senior Photographs Tucson
It’s week 44 of our 52 week project. That means that we are down to 8 more weeks, I can hardly believe it. The Holiday’s are coming and it is busy time for me here in Tucson, but I am still chugging along with this project.
This week our theme is face. I was going to do a pretty close up picture of one of my clients, but then I decided I needed a something light hearted and funny this week. This is not only a client but also my cousin, he is the best Senior ever. And because he is family I can put his Senior session “outtake” picture on my blog. My sister came with me to his Senior session and we were being so goofy and laughing a lot, and at one moment this is the face Dane gave me. He probably didn’t realize that his mean older cousin would actually put it on her blog. But hey, that’s what family is for. It’s the price you pay for having family take your Senior pictures.

It’s week 39 of our fifty-two week project. I can’t believe it’s almost October. Our theme this week is ruffles. Of course I knew I wanted to involve a cute little girl with this week’s theme. Well luckily my sister came to visit and brought my adorable little niece with her. We dressed her in a cute ruffle outfit and took her out for a picture session. I am so glad to be back in Arizona close to my family so I can see my sweet nieces and nephews more!!!

It’s Friday so it’s time for another 52 week project post. This week our theme is vintage. I love vintage clothing and especially that it is coming back in style. I wish I had more vintage clothing, I think it’s so timeless and classic. Vintage has really made a big appearance in the photography world, and I love it. This week I was trying to think of how I wanted to use the word vintage. I thought of Florabella Vintage actions which I adore. And how as photographers we can edit a picture to make it look more vintage. Shana, who creates Florabella actions, has the most beautiful vintage flower pictures. I decided to head to Trader Joes to get some flowers and take some pictures and give them a “vintage” edit.

This week for our fifty two week project the theme was dessert. I knew I wanted to use my kids for the pictures so I tried to think of something fun for them to eat. We are pretty strict about what we eat at our house. Our desserts I make typically don’t have any cane sugar in them and are more healthy so I knew if I got something full of sugar they would be in heaven. I bought powdered donut holes and we went to the park to eat them. They were so excited when they saw them. They had so much fun making a mess of them and wiping them all over their faces and each others faces.

I love our theme this week. It is one of my favorite things to hear, laughter. My kids both have the cutest little laughs, it warms my heart every time I hear them. But the best laugh in our family goes to my husband. He has the most genuine and contagious laugh ever. My siblings and parents love to watch movies with him just to hear him laugh. I love when he is watching a show that he thinks is funny and I am in another room doing something, it makes me smile when I hear him. His laughter truly is genuine and I love that about him!
My son has always had really deep expression lines, from the day he was born. When he laughs, or cries you can really see the lines in his face and really see his expressions. He is so giggly and ticklish, it is so fun!

It’s September already, oh my goodness! Time is flying and we are enjoying ourselves in Tucson. We are starting to make friends, get to know our neighbors, and feel a little more at home.
This week our 52 week project theme is pretend or make believe. Having young kids, I know a lot about make believe. My youngest has a wild imagination. I love watching him play, it is so fun to see where that imagination will take him. Lately my kids have been all about dressing up as super heroes. We have never had a super hero costume, but that doesn’t stop them from dressing up. They pull out the leggings, the underwear, and the pillow case and they are set. They have already both decided they want to be super heroes for Halloween so we are working on getting them some costumes made. In the meantime, their imaginations will have to suffice!

It’s week 34 of our Friday project. I can’t believe it’s the end of August and we are almost into September, I wish time would slow down a bit. We are in Tucson now and nice and settled. The boxes are unpacked, there are pictures on the walls, and it feels like home.
This week our project theme is bokeh. If you aren’t a photographer, you probably aren’t familiar with the term bokeh. I looked it up on Wikipedia and Bokeh is defined as “the blur, or the aesthetic quality of the blur,in out-of-focus areas of an image, or “the way the lens renders out-of-focus points of light.” You see bokeh in images all the time and just don’t realize that’s what it is. Here are some examples of pictures on my blog where you can really see the bokeh in the background of the image. Example one, example 2, and example 3.
This week one of my dearest friends came to Tucson to visit for the day. We have been friends since 4th grade where I met her at our mutual friend, Jill’s sleepover party. She soon moved over by me and we went to middle school and high school together. We have always stayed close friends during the years but we have lived across the U.S from one another so haven’t seen each other as often as we want. It has been a year since we last met up and so I hadn’t met her ADORABLE little man yet. I was thrilled when she told me she was going to be in the Phoenix area and wanted to come up to Tucson for the day to play. We had so much fun. The thing I love about life long friends, is you can always pick back up where you left off. I took some pictures of her handsome boy, isn’t he a doll? I love the bokeh in the background!

Fifty-Two on Friday (week 33)|Tucson AZ Photographer
It’s week 33 of our fifty two week project and our theme this week is gold OR silver. I decided to choose gold for my picture. We just moved to Tucson on Monday and we are loving it here. It is so beautiful, I swear we swoon every morning and every night as the sun rises and sets. With the gorgeous mountains so close, it makes the most beautiful pictures ever. It’s so fun to walk outside and see the mountains right from my yard. As I was out running the other morning, I was watching the sun rise and thinking it was the most perfect golden color. That’s when I decided to grab my camera and use that gorgeous sunrise as my project this week.
