What our 6th Annual New Years Eve Party Looks Like | Phoenix Family Photographer
6 years ago, my awesome Brother and Sister in Law decided to throw a family New Years Eve Party. Well…6 years later it is still going strong. It is honestly our FAVORITE family Holiday of the year. We have SO much fun, and every year they surprise us with new fun activities. Some things never change like the annual polar bear swim (I must be honest, I have never done this, cold water doesn’t appeal to me), our white elephant gift exchange, and late night games. But new things are always added to keep it fun. My Sister in Law is an amazing hostess and does such a great job decorating and planning for our party. After we ring in the new year, we all crash at their house and wake up to a yummy breakfast. We are so lucky to have such awesome family, I am looking forward to many more years of our tradition.
This year, something fun they added was a carnival for the kids. They had a popcorn machine, bouncer, carnival games, face painting, prizes, and horse back riding. The kids loved all of it, especially the horses!!!
Thank goodness my husband is an artist, he did a great job painting all the kids faces.
The gift exchange was great this year. My Dad put is some awesome ASU stuff that all the boys wanted, it was the coveted gift this year. We all went home with some pretty good stuff. Then we did fireworks (thanks to Papa), it was perfect for the kids. Next was the crazy polar bear swim, great job guys! Unfortunately my husband had bronchitis this year so it was his first year he couldn’t do it but 4 of the others did it! And we ended with toasting the New Year with our yummy Martenelli from Trader Joes. It was another fabulous year and we can’t wait til the next one!

My Sweet Little Family | Phoenix Family Photographer, Tucson Family Photographer
I posted a sneak peek of our family pictures a couple weeks ago, and I am so happy that I am finally done editing them! My good friend Aubry Startin took them for us and I am thrilled with how they turned out. I went in with a vision of what I wanted out of our pictures, and she totally captured exactly what I wanted. I am so lucky to have such an amazing friend in the photography community. She has helped me in so many ways and I am grateful for her friendship.
We took a day trip to drive up to Phoenix and have these family pictures taken. Aubry met us at an orange grove in Gilbert and the kids did awesome. I can’t wait to get the pictures on my walls and in my photo album! I ordered a 10×10 leather album to put the pictures in, I can’t wait!
I know this post is a little picture heavy, but hey it’s my family so I couldn’t resist!
Thanks again Aubry, I am so blessed to have you as a friend! Thanks for capturing my family perfectly!!!
What to wear in the winter | Tucson Family Photographer, Tucson Natural Light Photographer
It’s finally starting to feel a little bit like winter here in Tucson. We have been enjoying some nice 70 degree weather the past month. It really hasn’t felt like winter but I am totally ok with that because honestly I’m not a huge fan of the cold. But I do know eventually this warm Tucson weather must go away and we must have a little bit of winter weather here. So for those of you wondering how to dress your family for winter pictures, here’s a fun idea. I love the blue in the pictures, I think it adds the perfect pop.
The next couple months are busy, if you are wanting a session in the Tucson or Phoenix area, contact me and we can get you on the schedule!
Twenty-Six on Friday (Week 2) | Phoenix Family Photographer
It’s week 2 of our new 26 week project. Last week our theme was “the view from up here”. This weeks theme is “lets get close”. My son is my little cuddle buddy. He is my child who constantly shows love and tells you he loves you. I just love my sweet little man and so I decided to get close with him for this months theme. Also with this new project we are adding techniques to work on each month. This month our technique was unique lighting. I took this picture in front of our blinds on a bright day so we are back light. I love how it just creates a shadow of us.
We have 12 other amazing photographer’s in our group so please be sure to make your rounds through the whole circle. We have one awesome new photographer that we added so you must check her out too.

Whitney and Tony | Tucson Wedding Photographer, Tucson Engagement Photographer
I had the chance to photograph this beautiful couple last weekend in Scottsdale. We met at the Keirland Westin Hotel, the location was amazing and they were incredibly accommodating to let us photograph there even though it was a busy day. Whitney and Tony were so fun to work with, their love is evident and we had a great time together. I will be photographing their Wedding at the end of next month in Mesa AZ. This is just a quick sneak peek of their engagement session, I will post the rest of their engagement pictures soon!
I can’t wait to see how beautiful you guys will look in your Wedding attire next month!
Just Us | Phoenix Family Photographer
If you have followed my blog, you will remember a New Year’s resolution I made at the end of last year. I committed to take more family pictures with ME in them. Being a photographer, I am constantly taking pictures of my kids and my husband with my kids, but I am rarely in them. So for 2012 I will be posting a family picture a month on my blog. I want to be a part of my children’s memories and this is my year I have resolved to do it!
For our January pictures, I called up my good friend, and photographer Aubry Startin to help me out. Christmas time was so busy taking pictures of my clients families, that I never had ours taken. Well luckily Aubry was free and more than willing to help me out. She went with my vision and made it come to pass. I am thrilled with what we got! I am still editing them but here are a few I love, and I thought it would be perfect to share for “Just Us” this month.
I will post the rest of our session soon. And be sure to check back in February for my “Just Us” post.
Sweet Tucson Family | Tucson Children’s Photographer
I had the chance to photograph this family over the Holiday’s. We met in the Tucson Foothills for their photographs. They are a beautiful family. Alexandra happens to be a photographer in Tucson also, so I was thrilled when she wanted me to take her family photographs. It’s always fun to photograph photographers families because they are use to being in front of the camera!
Oh and don’t you love the blog collage? It is from Birdesign at Etsy. Her stuff is so perfect, I will be using a lot more of her boards on my blog!
I am currently booking through April so if you want to get on the calendar, email me at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Hope and David Wedding |Tucson Wedding Photographer
I traveled to Washington DC to photograph this GORGEOUS couple. They were married in the LDS Temple and we did their couples portraits the day before at Woodend Sanctuary. Although it was chilly outside, it was beautiful and made for some great Wedding photographs. I wanted to post some pictures of them getting ready, their first look, and the day before pictures. Hope has one of the most contagious and genuine smiles ever. They were so in love and I loved watching them interact and make each other smile. I will come back soon to post their Wedding day photographs and also the pictures from the reception in Mississippi!
Check back for some more Wedding pictures of this adorable couple!
